A rare Patek Philippe timepiece headlining at auction at Christie’s New York. The incredible piece is from the post-war Sleeping Beauty series. The Ref. 2523 was introduced in 1953 to a less than enthusiastic audience, many who considered its intricate face too hard to read and its price point excessive. Now a collector’s dream, the piece represents 24 time zones and boasts a crown at 10 o’clock. It is sure to garner a far different response today than it did 59 years ago.
