Swiss luxury horologer Roger Dubuis announces a new coveted address – Harrods’ iconic Fine Watch Room.
The Geneva-based watchmaker’s Harrods flagship store is to open on March 3th, sashaying the 22-year old brand not only into the UK market but into one of London’s largest and most coveted luxury retail spaces.
The move to Knightsbridge serves as a badge for Roger Dubuis’ success, which rests on the striking ability to unite time-honored watchmaking expertise and avant-garde design. For the brand’s CEO Jean-Marc Pontroue it is an exciting and strategically important opportunity to stake its rightful place in the world of haute horlogerie.
The brand’s Creative Director Alvaro Maggini has conceptualized the inaugural Roger Dubuis boutique in Britain to reflect the label’s quest for discipline and perfection. Packed in the 30sq.-meter space is the label’s distinct aesthetic. A jewelry box theme, subtly rendered in braided leather, bronze and wood, creates a sophisticated and intimate scene that carries the particular vibe of Roger Dubuis’ stores around the world.
Along with an extensive collection of watches,the Harrods boutique is to showcase two exclusive timepieces – the 45mm Excalibur Knights of the Round Table and the 48mm Excalibur Spider Pocket Time Instrument. Harrods will also accommodate the brand’s latest creations, including the 2017 Excalibur Spider Pirelli and the new Ladies Velvet line.
“It is an exciting time for Roger Dubuis and Harrods with the brand currently attracting huge demand within our Fine Watch Room,” said Helen David, Chief Merchant at Harrods, on the occasion. “Our customers are very excited by the novelty the brand proposes, with significant demand for the Excalibur collection and in particular the Excalibur Titanium Skeleton piece, which to date is our bestseller.”
Roger Dubuis’ Harrods store comes on the heels of the label’s celebrated exhibition during Harrods Made with Love Precision 2016 season, where it presented its watchmaking prowess.
