Place Vendôme Jaeger-LeCoultre Boutique Inaugurated

Close to celebrating its 180th anniversary, haute horlogerie manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, on November 20 of this year, had a date set with fine chronograph aficionados at Place Vendôme’s No. 7, which is now the watchmaker’s 500m2 flagship boutique.

Close to celebrating its 180th anniversary, haute horlogerie manufacture Jaeger-LeCoultre, on November 20 of this year, had a date set with fine chronograph aficionados at Place Vendôme’s No. 7,...

The warm, bright space is now the company’s largest retail area and the interior design conveys Jaeger-LeCoultre’s past, present, and future.

Diane Kruger, the face of Jaeger-LeCoultre’s ladies’ line along with CEO Jérôme Lambert inaugurated the boutique and started off the event with a prestigious ribbon-cutting ceremony.  Also present with Kruger and Lambert was Guillain Maspetiol, the brand manager for France.

Celebrities present at the star-studded event were famed beauty and actress Catherine Deneuve, Carmen Chaplin, Vincent Perez, Isabelle Huppert, Olga Sorokina, José Luis Rebordinos, and Marina Hands, along with Inès de la Fressange.

The new boutique is intended to be a welcoming centre as well as retail space for timepiece connoisseurs, brand loyalists, and collectors, and for the inauguration event, Jaeger-LeCoultre put some very rare pieces that hardly ever get seen by the public on display; the world’s smallest mechanical movement, the Calibre 101 and some of the most complicated mechanisms ever built were available for viewing.

For the special occasion, the watchmaker unveiled a special limited edition timepiece of which only 100 exemplars will be available:  the Duomètre Unique Travel Time.   The numbers 7 and 9 done in red on the dial pay tribute to the new boutique in the Parisian luxury address, and the watch is the first worldtime chronograph which lets users adjust the time in the travel zone to the nearest  minute.

Over 800 guests were present for the inauguration ceremony, and were treated to cocktails at the Grand Hotel where a special performance by circus artists occurred; an equestrian show was also provided for their entertainment.
