LVMH Journées Particulières Puts Spotlight on Watchmakers

This weekend luxury conglomerate LVMH hosted its second annual Journées Particulières in Switzerland. The conglomerate, which owns TAG Heuer, Zenith, Hublot and Bulgari, offered a rare glimpse into the world of their manufactures with events across Switzerland. The Journées Particulières let the public discover the crafts of the men and women who are behind LVMH’s manufactures.

Across Europe LVMH opened the doors to fashion houses like Dior and brought guests to the Moët Hennessy vineyards, in Switzerland events were focused on watch manufactures. In the town of Le Locle (whose industrial architecture is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site), Zenith welcomed about 400 visitors. Guests toured the recently renovated main building and Zenith’s workshops, where traditional tools mix with cutting-edge technologies. The artisans trained in the more than 80 skills involved in the production of a Zenith watch demonstrated some of their talents, from making movement blanks to cutting out components and decorating and assembling a movement.
