The Haute Minute

Luxury conglomerate LVMH has officially found a new CEO for their company TAG Heuer. Stéphane Linder was appointed to the top job earlier today, replacing Jean-Christophe Babin who headed to Bulgari.

Linder, who was born in Switzerland in 1968, is married with four children. After graduating from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Linder joined TAG Heuer in 1993, where he played a key role in RD and Product Development with a push to reintegrate in-house product development. In 1997, Linder became Marketing and Product Manager, supervising TAG Heuer’s overall watch strategy and establishing the brand’s successful eyewear diversification. In 2003 Linder was appointed to the Executive Committee as Product and Brand Director, where he established the brand’s Haute Horlogerie division. In 2007, Linder’s role was extended to the Marketing department as VP of Marketing and Product Design, where he repositioned TAG Heuer as a prestige brand and grew the retail division. Finally, in 2010, Linder was appointed VP of Sales for TAG Heuer North America, taking control of USA and Canadian distribution with significant increases to average wholesale profitability per point of sales.

Francesco Trapani, the President of the Watch and Jewelry Division at LVMH, announced the news, adding that Linder’s strategic vision will help TAG Heuer continue to grow and evolve.
