Hublot Set to Auction One-of-a-Kind Watches to Benefit Boxing

On Saturday, September 29, British auction house Bonhams will auction off 12 unique Hublot King Power WBC watches. Those lucky individuals who make the winning bids will not only receive their one-of-a-kind King Power WBC watches, they will be awarded the timepieces by legendary boxer Lennox Lewis at a special gala evening. All proceeds from the sale of these 12 custom Hublot watches will go directly to support the charitable initiatives run by the WBC, the governing body of boxing worldwide, whose programs range from the retired boxer’s pension fund to the provision of emergency services in over 40 countries worldwide.

The one-of-a-kind watches being auctioned off are sure to generate some strong bidding wars; not only do they support a good cause, the timepieces themselves are a thing of beauty. The “King Power World Boxing Council” watches were designed to represent the iconic championship belt awarded annually to the world’s best boxer. The watch’s technical specifications include a 48mm-diameter casing of 18K King Gold, with a black ceramic bezel, black rubber insert and chronograph pushers in black PVD. Inside the watches are powered via Hublot’s 252-component HUB4100 automatic chronograph movement, which affords these timepieces a 42-hour power reserve. The hour markers feature green luminescent gilt markers, while the chronograph hand features the classic Hublot logo. The strap is made of Porosus Hornback green alligator, with an additional black rubber strap provided as spare.

The icing on the cake? The back casing of each watch features a crystal WBC symbol and the signature of one of 12 boxing legends, among them Lennox Lewis, Julio Cesar Chavez, Mike Tyson, Sugar Ray Leonard, George Foreman, Tommy Hearns, Roberto Duran, Oscar de la Hoya, Jeff Fenech, and Larry Holmes.
