At the backdrop of the majestic French Alps, Luxury Swiss horologer, Hublot unveiled two new timepieces that embody the rugged grandness of the European mountain range.
On January 26, at the legendary Courchevel resort, Hublot CEO Ricardo Guadalupe presented the Big Bang Alps, a limited watch that comes in two models – his and hers. Both boast two interchangeable “One Click” straps that – in a reflection of the Alpine clime – come with the novel Cuddly Cuff, an oversized, attachable padding in shearling wool.
The men’s version flaunts a 45mm case, whose back shines in translucent sapphire and shields the Manufacture’s famed Unico chronograph movement. The bezel is made from frosted carbon that evokes the Alps’ jagged, granite terrain.
So does the 39mm women’s timepiece, which, nonetheless, possesses a subtle streak of refinement. Some 42 sparkling diamonds, totaling 1.00 carat, adorn the bezel, while an engraved image of the peak of the Matterhorn rests on the sapphire case back. A calibre HUB1710 self-winding movement with a power reserve of 50 hours fuel the women’s edition.
“From the piste to a gala evening, on snowshoe walks or at meals with family and friends, we hope that your Hublot Big Bang Alps will accompany you throughout the winter season,” said Guadalupe. “That’s why we’ve made it as versatile as possible. As changeable as the Matterhorn itself, with a different face for every photo. The Art of Fusion technology and watchmaking expertise combine at the height of fashion and comfort.”
Both watches are limited to 100 pieces.
