Haute Auto: the Most Powerful Production Cars

The Haute Minute

Last week Haute Living introduced the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette, which at 650 horsepower, is the seventh most powerful production car in the world.

Road Track magazine made it easy by publishing a list of the most powerful production cars of 2015 models. Each of these vehicles looks blurry fast even when parked. The Ferrari LaFerrari tops the list with a V12-engine that metes out 789 horsepower … and it is a hybrid to boot. The MSRP is $1.4 million.

The 890-horsepower McLaren P1 also is a hybrid. Priced at $1.15 million, the Big Mc zooms from zero to 60 mph in 2.8 seconds. We are loving it. mclaren-p1

The Porsche 918 Spyder is third on the list at 887 horsepower. It, too, is a hybrid with a top speed of 211 mph. Priced at $848,000, it’s the first automobile of its kind costing consumers less than a million dollars.

porsche918The Ferrari F12 Berlinetta  has a 6.3-liter DOHC V12 engine that puts out 730 horsepower. Its base price is about $324,000.

The Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 holds down the fifth slot with 700 horsepower.  Its costs about $398,000. lambo2
