Grand Seiko’s New Sport Collection Quartz GMT Watches Are The Ultimate Performance Pieces

It’s been quite an exciting summer for Grand Seiko. On the heels of the latest Heritage Collection launches, the brand has also unveiled two new Sport Collection Quartz GMT timepieces: the new SBGN027 and SBGN029. Fusing Grand Seiko’s iconic sports design aesthetic with premier technical features for performance, the SBGN027 and SBGN029 are the ultimate companions for those who seek adventure in style.

At first glance, the new watches exude all of the sports design qualities with its 39mm stainless steel case fitted with the bracelet designed for any condition, a steel 24-hour bezel makes tracking the second time zone, and Lumibrite on the hands and markers for legibility. Subtle design details are also woven throughout with the signature Grand Seiko sunray pattern on the rich black and blue dials with the four o’clock crown placement, and the hairline finishing adds texture and depth. In addition, the SBGN029 sports the dark blue dial with the contrasting GMT hand in a bold red color, while the SBGN027 features a monochromatic look against the black dial.

The inside of the watches is the real hero as they are powered by the Caliber 9F86, which is revered as one of the finest quartz calibers in the world, achieving exceptional precision and reliability. The high precision (+/- 10 seconds a year) of Caliber 9F86 was made for travel as it is not compromised based on what time zone you may be in — further serving as a testament that these new sports watches are the ultimate performance companions.

Both watches will arrive at Grand Seiko boutiques and select retailers in September.
