Last year Jaeger-LeCoultre unveiled the Master Ultra-Thin Jubilee timepiece, which spent about a year with the status of the thinnest production watch in the world. That title then passed to Piaget’s Altiplano, but this year Jaeger-LeCoultre’s responded by presenting the world’s thinnest watch with a tourbillon and repeater, and the unveiling of a new addition to the Master Ultra Thin Collection, the Master Ultra Thin 1907.
The new Master Ultra Thin 1907, an extra-slim pink gold timepiece, has already arrived in-store at Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Moscow boutique, where Knockoff Watches Wholesale got a glimpse of it. The case of the Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra Thin 1907 measures a mere 4.05mm in width. To make it easier to understand just how thin that it, we compared it with a coin, a wedding ring, and a watch – the Master Ultra Thin Moon 39, which measures 9.9mm in width.
As you can see, the Master Ultra Thin 1907 is really quite slim. A mechanical Calibre 849, one of the world’s thinnest manual winding mechanisms, makes this possible, its height only 1.85mm.
Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Master Ultra Thin 1907 features simple functions – just two hands. Energy that accumulates in the winding barrel provides 35 hours of trouble-free operation. The movement is decorated with a Côtes de Genève pattern, but it can be glimpsed only after removing the golden caseback.
In terms of styling, the Master Ultra Thin 1907 pays tribute to Jaeger-LeCoultre’s Couteau (French for the knife), an ultra-thin pocket watch produced by the manufacture in 1907. The Master Ultra Thin 1907 inherited a sharp-sided case, evoking the profile of a knife.
