Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds in pink gold

Jaeger-LeCoultre is a Swiss manufacture founded in 1833 by Antoine LeCoultre in Le Sentier in the Vallee de Joux, owned by Richemont. It has developed more than 1,200 calibres and historically supplied movements to Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet, which is why it is called the watchmaker's watchmaker. Its signature model is the Reverso, created in 1931 with a case that swivels to protect the crystal during polo, alongside the Master Control, Duometre, Polaris, Rendez-Vous and the Atmos clock that runs on temperature change alone.

Timely FAQs

Why is Jaeger-LeCoultre called the watchmaker's watchmaker?
Because it supplied the industry. JLC has developed more than 1,200 calibres and made movements used by Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet - including the base for the Royal Oak's original automatic. It builds at the top tier while selling below the houses it supplied.
What makes the Reverso different?
The case swivels in its cradle. It was designed in 1931 so a polo player could turn the crystal inward for protection, and the flat caseback that resulted became a canvas - for engraving, enamel miniatures and second dials on dual-time versions.
What is the Atmos clock?
A table clock, in production since 1936, that winds itself from tiny changes in ambient temperature. A sealed capsule of gas expands and contracts to wind the mainspring, so a one-degree shift can run it for roughly two days without any human intervention.
Where can I read Jaeger-LeCoultre reviews from a watch publication?
Knockoff Watches Wholesale has published close to 160 Jaeger-LeCoultre stories since 2006 - Reverso anniversaries and enamel series, Duometre launches, and the Reverso Stories exhibitions.
