Audemars Piguet is starting off the week with some incredible news. The luxury watchmaker has released photos from Brazil, where the Audemars Piguet Foundation financed the redevelopment of forest lands to help populations at risk escape poverty.

The Haute Minute

The manufacture has funded projects aimed at helping those in need in the Cerrado...

The initiative was executed in the Cerrado, a vast tropical ecoregion to the north of Sao Paolo. This savannah region has recently been ravaged by mining activity, pushing small farmers to the margins.

The Audemars Piguet Foundation’s project aims to help those in need by financing the creation of family nurseries and a training cycle for young farmers.

Families involved in the project have received the seeds and the necessary training to create nurseries for trees, vegetables and grains that are adapted to degraded soil and climatic changes.

The Audemars Piguet foundation has worked closely with Entraide Protestante Suisse (EPER) to fund EPER’s local initiatives, which will recreate biodiversity and reforest lands.
