Michel Parmigiani has made no secret of his love for the aesthetics of Italian ultra-car maker Bugatti, with his company Parmigiani Fleurier having designed several timepieces in collaboration with the car company.

Their most recent effort is La Parmigiani Fleurier Vitesse, an eccentric racing watch designed from the same palette as Bugatti’s new convertible Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. The watch is especially suited for use behind the wheel with an unorthodox dial that is located along the edge of the piece’s 6-crystal case, allowing easy access for a wearer who might be speeding around a racetrack at 150 miles per hour.
Composed of 333 parts, La Bugatti Vitesse is kept in motion using Parmigiani Fleurier’s PF 372 movement, which is wound via a white gold crown embedded with semi-precious lapis lazuli stones. The case is cast in satin-finished Titanium and features anti-reflective sapphire crystals covering every plane of the watch’s surface. A chronometer located in the “main” window measures seconds while the uniquely-position dial ticks off hours and minutes.
Measuring 36 mm wide and 50.7 mm long, the curvy rectangular case is affixed to an alligator strap from Hermès. Water resistant to a depth of 10 m, the power reserve can hold out a robust 10 days.
The watch’s namesake, Bugatti’s Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse, debuted to rave reviews earlier this year at the Geneva Motor Show.
