“Talk Like a Pirate Day” is coming up on September 19, and if you’re biding your time counting the hours and minutes, there’s a clock for that. The skull and crossbones clad Jolly Roger desk clock by Corum was produced in 2000 as one of the company’s limited edition runs known as “World Premiers.” In the Jolly Roger’s case, only 10 were ever crafted, which makes it the most collectible piece ever made by Corum.

The Haute Minute

“Talk Like a Pirate Day” is coming up on September 19, and if you’re biding your time counting the hours and minutes, there’s a clock for that.

Composed of 925 sterling silver, the clock is about the size of a softball. The silver skull case flips open to reveal a clock face measuring 4 ⅜ inches wide, with a depth of 4 ½ inches and a height of 2 ⅞ inches. The face is enmeshed in a spider’s web, with a spider that indicates the setting of the alarm. The different functions are controlled by a quartz movement and can be adjusted with a dial on the right side of the clock for the alarm and a dial on the left for the time. A silver serpent encircles the display, whose scales add an intricate level of detail that showcases Corum’s exacting craftsmanship.

The bottom of each solid silver case is individually numbered and marked by Corum, which helps determine the provenance for dealers and buyers.
