Enter Piaget’s Worldwide Flagship Store In Paris

Among the new haute watches and jewelry boutiques that opened last year in Paris, one of our favourites is the Piaget worldwide flagship store at 7 rue de la Paix, just a few meters away from the Place Vendôme.

The address is prestigious for two reasons: not only is it in the highly exclusive Place Vendôme area, it also witnessed the birth of Haute Couture when in 1858 Charles Frederick Worth opened his salons here to welcome fashion conscious (and wealthy) customers from all over the world.

With over 500 square meters of display space, the boutique, Piaget’s 100th and its largest in the world, is divided onto two floors in a series of rooms redesigned by interior architect Christine Querlioz from Atelier Sasha in Paris. Ms Querlioz has a long experience with Richemont Group and other luxury brands, and knows the value of respecting the identity of each one.

The Piaget motto: “Always do better than necessary”, and its decision in 1957 to work exclusively with precious materials, guided the Atelier Sasha to redefine the space using rare elements and special lighting, starting with the “Vitrine Extraordinaire” display windows that light up at dusk to show off creations from the latest horology, jewelry and haute jewelry collections.

Warm browns, beiges and golds welcome us inside, with oak parquet floors and panelling, and coffers gilded with gold leaf. These and a one of a kind gold leaf mosaic display window are enhanced with refined lighting from handcrafted lanterns made in Murano and a luxurious 3.5-metre stylised chandelier. Thick beige carpeting invites us towards the “Bar à Montres” and display of the Manufacture’s calibres including the record-breaking Piaget Altiplano Chronograph and 24 other ultra-thin movements. A master watchmaker is permanently on hand.

This superb flagship store includes a reception area ready to host a cocktail or even an intimate dinner for the happy few.
