Harry Winston Celebrates The Opening Of New Shanghai Salon With Celebs And Limited Edition Timepieces

“King of Diamonds” Harry Winston celebrated the grand opening of its first retail Pavilion in Shanghai, the largest Harry Winston salon in the world.

Highlighting the richly faceted history of the 80 year old luxury brand, the international jeweler and watchmaker hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony attended by Leighton Meester Ed Westwick, along with a special performance by pop star Jay Chou.

To celebrate the monumental opening, Harry Winston released limited edition timepieces- The Red Premier Feather, Midnight Tourbillon, and Midnight Shikumen.

The Midnight Limited Edition Shanghai ladies timepieces displays the hours and minutes on the dial adorned with Shikumen motifs subtly punctuated with diamond-studded arches. The rose gold model measures 32mm in diameter and is lit up by 84 brilliant cut diamonds on a white satin strap. The white gold version is 39mm in diameter and boast a daring green color symbolizing harmony, prosperity and health in China. This model is enhanced by 104 brilliant cut diamonds on a black alligator strap.

The Midnight Tourbillon Limited Edition GMT is a men’s  timepiece with a black dial and a figure 8 on the second time-zone subdial , considered a lucky number in China. The figure 8 also appears on the the excentered chapter ring of the Midnight Tourbillon. On this model, rounded outlines shine discreetly against an opaline dial and the crimson touches also brighten the hour makers and tourbillon screws. It is driven by a 100 hour power reserve and comes in 45mm diameter white gold case.

The Premiere Feather Limited Edition Shanghai timepiece also celebrates the Chinese culture and tradition with a stunning red dial on a rose gold case. The dial is adorned with a feather print, a symbol of royalty. Nelly Saunier was the craftsperson entrusted to design this delicate piece. Each dial took nearly seven hours of work. It is lit up by 67 brilliant cut diamonds and limited to just eight pieces.
