We sat down with Andrew Block of Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry to talk about the Audemars Piguet Offshore Tourbillion Chrono, an extremely limited timepiece available at the boutique throughout the month of June. There are only two pieces in the United States.
Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry considers itself a cut above the average luxury watch boutique. The bay area store is one of the only authorized Audemars Piguet dealer in the region, and prides itself with selling pieces not commonly found in the display cases of lesser boutiques. Starting this month, Stephen Silver will be selling an Audemars Piguet Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph, a watch so exceptionally rare, only two exist in the United States. Recently, Knockoff Watches Wholesale was given the chance to sit down with Andrew Block, President of Stephen Silver Fine Jewelry, and see the watch in person. We discussed what makes the piece so special and what it means to be entrusted with such a rare example of fine watchmaking from AP.
Why is this such an important piece for your store?
Over our store’s lifespan, we’ve learned that our clients are very anxious to see examples of fine watchmaking that stand above and beyond what’s offered in the brand’s core collections. The clientele in Silicon Valley is very worldly and knowledgeable, and we want to represent the brand by presenting products that are way above what the average retailer has. For us, the opportunity to get our hands on this Offshore Tourbillon Chronograph is just the first step in really showcasing the sort of fine watchmaking Audemars Piguet has to offer outside of what they represent in their core collection. We’ve proven that our discerning clients have taken well to us showing and offering watches from our family of brands that are above and beyond what everyone else has. This piece from AP is something we’re really proud to have because there are only two of them in the United States. One of them is in one of their boutiques, and the second one is in our store.
Since it’s such a limited piece, do you believe this watch will appreciate in value?
Yes, no question. We follow the secondary market, and we follow the progression of what these rare pieces do in terms of appreciation of value. This would be in that category.
What’s the price point?
The piece is $330,000. It’s a manual tourbillon with a blue dial, blue rubber strap and a platinum and ceramic case.
