Just released at SIHH 2013 in Geneva, this impressive piece was a collaboration with Jamaican Olympian and medal winner Yohan Blake and the Richard Mille team. The mission was to create a high-performance tourbillon that would withstand the requirements of an Olympic sprinter as well as the brand – mission accomplished.
The Richard Mille RM 59-01 Yohan Blake features a case is constructed from a translucent composite made up of carbon nanotubes which offer the movement shock protection. The case is extremely light and more resistant than steel and assembled with titanium screws.
The case houses a RM59-01 manual winding tourbillon movement with hours and minutes. The movement is hand decorated, painted and polished, giving it a colorful and stylish look. The RM 59-01 Yohan Blake features anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the front and case-back and is water resistant to 30 meters.
The Richard Mille RM 59-01 is shown here on a green rubber strap matching the dial colors and is part of a Limited Edition collection of only 50 pieces.
