Unique Hand-Painted Patek Philippe Clock to Be Offered in Antiquorum’s December Auction

For fine watch and clock aficionados and art lovers, Antiquorum’s December 13^th auction is less than a week away, but it can’t come soon enough; a Patek Philippe dome clock that has been hand painted by renowned graffiti artist John “CRASH” Matos will be up for grabs.

The Important Modern and Vintage Timepieces auction will take place next Thursday in New York and proceeds from the sale will go to Aids Community Research Initiative of America (ACRIA).

The Patek Philippe solar dome clock is the first object that the artist has painted by hand since he completed work on Eric Clapton’s five guitars; in 2004 one of the painted instruments was sold at auction for over $321,000.  The painted clock first was exhibited to the public along with some of CRASH’s paintings in his show “CRASH – Back on the Block” which took place from September 12^th of this year to October 6^th in Antiquorum’s gallery space.

The clock, which was manufactured in 1960, is a rare solar-powered table clock.  Pre-auction estimates range from $10,000 to $15,000.
