Piaget Partners with Philanthropists for Charity Polo Match

Richemont subsidiary Piaget treated the Hamptons to a star-studded polo match last Sunday, all to benefit New York City’s Robin Hood Foundation. Southfork philanthropists Joe and Diana DiMenna joined Piaget in sponsoring the charitable event.

The match took place at the Equuleus Polo Club in Watermill, NY, just outside Southampton. Rival teams sponsored by Equuleus, Crédit Suisse, and Beverly Hills Beauty were sprinkled with elite polo players such as Nacho Figueras, Kris Kampsen and Bash Kazi.

The nine-chukker round robin match ended in a three-way tie between the teams, setting a rather amiable mood for the rest of the afternoon. Nacho Figueras took home the title of Most Valuable Player for the match, while Bash Kazi’s steed won Best Playing Pony.

Inside a white party tent overflowing with food and drink, artistic displays of Piaget’s famous Polo FortyFive and Altiplano timepieces enticed the mingling spectators. The Polo FortyFive features Piaget’s 880P movement while the Altiplano style sports either the 1200P or 1208P movements, depending on the model.

Piaget has a rich tradition of polo sponsorship as the official timekeeper of Bridgehampton Polo as well as the USPA Silver Cup Tournament at the Santa Barbara Polo and Racquet Club. The effort to raise money for the Robin Hood Foundation will help support initiatives to fight hunger and help students stay in school.
