5 Questions With Brand Director Of Zenith Alain Huy

1.  Tell us some of the most exciting developments at Zenith today?

Since June 2009, ZENITH under the leadership of Jean-Frederic Dufour, President and CEO, has enjoyed a complete revamping of its creations. The international commercial success that we enjoyed since is definitely encouraging all our the future developments. During the Basel fair 2012, we will launch a very exciting new line of watches for man  I can’t tell you now, sorry…

2.  What watch do you wear daily? 

I am wearing during the week the Rose Gold Open Chronomaster El-Primero and on weekend I am wearing the Alchron Stratos Striking 10th Flyback.

3.  If money was not a concern, which Zenith  would you recommend to a customer?

Without a doubt, The Rose Gold Christophe Colomb Equation of Time. The piece just won the Geneva Watchmaking Grand Prix for Best Complicated watch of the year.

4.  For movement, what watch do you produce that you are most proud of?

As ZENITH is a fully integrated manufacture, we produce our movement in all our models. But the most iconicmovement is for sure the famous El Primero movement . All our Chronograph watches are incased with the El-Primero since 1969. We added since then several additional complication to the original chronograph function such as an Annual Calendar, a flyback a Split Second, a Striking 10th, a Perpetual Calendar, a Tourbillon or a Minute Repeater. El Primero was the first high frequency (5 Hz or 36,000 VpH) chronograph automatic movement fully integrated ever.

5.  Blackberry/Iphone/Android?

Blackberry for professional reason but I installed Whatsapp application so I can “instant message” my friends using an Iphone.
